The Castle Peak Story:
Let’s get your prepped for an adventure to Castle Peak.
WHAT YOU’LL SEE:
- Gorgeous views of the high sierra Nevada Mountains, Lake Tahoe (in the distance), Donner Lake, Boreal/Sugar Bowl Ski Areas in the distance, and an unhindered view from the top of a mountain.
THINGS TO KNOW:
- I’d put this hike in the moderate to strenuous category. Let’s just say, this is a steady and steep climb. In one section the dirt is a little loose, so take your time and go slow on the steep sections.
- HIKE (6 mi RT) = May/June to mid November
- SNOWSHOE (8-10 mi RT) = Mid November to April/May
